The Stafford Lake MTB production team has partnered with ACCESS4BIKES to bring our commitment to increasing participation of women and girls in mountain biking to the next level.
A4B is providing a 30% grant towards registration fees for all female participants in the Stafford Lake MTB Weekend. That brings the total granting funding to 45% towards registrations fees. The grant is automatically applied at registration.
Stafford Lake MTB Weekend is also offering 2 FREE women/girls' skills clinic with certified NICA skills coach Jessica Tseng.
A4B has recently expanded its involvement in opening up cycling to more women with the formation of ACCESS4WOMEN.
Your production team, Repack Racing, B-17 Racing and CCCX Cycling will continue to increase access and lower barriers to female cyclist with ongoing programs.
A4B has been involved with the Bike Park and perimeter trail projects at Stafford Lake for many years to increase accessibilty for cycling in Marin.
Stafford Lake MTB Weekend Events
Stafford Lake Rattler XC - Sunday October 20
The Stafford Lake Rattler XC will be a traditional format MTB XC race with a ~4-mile course. Participants will complete multiple laps depending on registration class.
The course is a mix of singletrack, fire road and double track. It utilizes the Bike Park and the hills to the south of the park that contain trails closed to public riding.
This is a wonderful venue with excellent trails and stunning scenery. It is also the former home of the NICA High School League State Championships and the future home of more NorCal racing! The course is fun and flowy with a couple of moderate climbs and many punchy climbs.
Classes/Categories
Middle School Class Boys: 6th/7th Grade, 8th Grade; Girls: 6th/7th Grade, 8th Grade (younger riders may register for Middle School).
Beginner Class Men: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+ ; Women: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+
Sport Class Men: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+ ; Women: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+
Expert Men: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+ ; Women: 18 and under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+
Open/Pro: Men; Women
Laps and distances will be announced closer to race day.
Stafford Lake Dual Slalom - Presented by Solstice Bike Works (Saturday 10/19)
We thank Solstice Bike Works for a presenter-level sponsorship the 2024 Dual Slalom race. Solstice is also a local shop sponsor for the entire weekend.
The Stafford Lake Park team has done some great work to refurbish and improve the dual slalom course. In fact, the dual slalom was used as part of the Stafford Lake Crusher Cup on July 27, 2024.

Short Track XC - Presented by ACCESS4BIKES (Saturday 10/19)
ACCESS4BIKES has partnered with Stafford Lake MTB to bring you the Shorty Track XC race on Saturday morning. A4B is also sponsoring the #moregirlsonbike and ACCESS4WOMEN initiatives with a 30% registration grant for all female participants in the Stafford Lake MTB Weekend.
Stafford Lake has been home to the Stafford Shorty for many years and offers a great variety short track course options.
The Stafford Lake MTB Weekend will feature a short track race that is significantly different from the Stafford Shorty course. The course will be shorter with less climbing.
